Situated just south of New Zealands historic Mangonui    Harbour. The School started here in 1896 with land being donated by the Foster family.

When Elwyn Richardson was the principal in the 1950s and early 1960s, our school became an experimental school. Elwyn was able to follow his creative learning programmes with the blessing of the Department of Education and develop a philosophy of learning that has now become the main stream pedagogy in many New Zealand schools.

We endeavour to further build on the strong foundation he laid by providing a wide range of creative learning opportunities.
