Our thanks to all those who took the time to respond to our
survey regarding the introduction of a compulsory uniform
throughout the school. The result of this survey was that
all but eight parents have indicated that they are in favour
of having a compulsory uniform throughout the school by
2011. So the Board of Trustees have decided that this will
be introduced.
The uniform will consist of:
· A maroon coloured school polo shirt available only through
the school office. Orders may be placed with payment, sizes
6-14 $23, adult sizes $25 these will have printed school
emblems. If you wish to have the embroidered emblems the
cost will be $35 each.) We need to order shirts 5 at a time
to avoid additional courier expenses so you may have to wait
for delivery. So please order in advance of need!
· A maroon Polar Fleece jacket available through Postie Plus
in Kaitaia.
· A maroon school sunhat (the school will supply these at
this stage but in the future they may have to be purchased)
· Black pants, shorts, skirts or culottes available through
Postie Plus (no skinny jeans or very short shorts)
· Long sleeved black skivvies can be worn under the school
polo shirt in winter if wished but no coloured t-shirts or
tops protruding.
· Black shoes, sandals or black jandals.
I would suggest purchasing more than one shirt and more than
one of the bottom part of the uniform to allow for washing
times.
There will be an incentive each term to come correctly
dressed, this will be in the form of a prize draw at the end
of the term for which entry will require the children to
have been correctly dressed all term. It is hoped that this
will encourage the children to transition to uniform without
a fuss at home over what is appropriate uniform.
