We went to a local beach
as part of SeaWeek and explored the rocky shore.
The children were each given an identification
booklet on marine life.
They enjoyed finding the plants, shells and animals.
Teachers and parents spent the time ‘head down, bum
up, closely observing.
At the end of the day…. We celebrated a few
birthdays….with a song and 60 claps.

We started this year with lovely new sunhats. You
can see that our little class are very pleased with
themselves.
Our favourite subject at the moment is swimming… it
is so hot here in the Far North.
A favourite day is Friday, because we do
‘developmental’ where the children learn through
activities using the ‘Key Competencies’. In this
picture we made and decorated our own ginger-bread
men as part of our story of the week.
As part of ‘Citizenship’ theme this term we are
looking at family and class rules, which lead to
investigating the
Treaty of Waitangi.
Our whole school went there and had a most
interesting day discovering the early history of our
country and how people organised themselves to live
together.
I am very happy with this bright, well-behaved and
enthusiastic class of students.
